Guidelines for Uniform and Jewellery

Here at Hillcrest School, we feel that the recommendations indicate an outfit which is smart and appropriate for everyday wear and encourages the students to identify with Hillcrest School by wearing its colours.

The list of essential items of school uniform has been kept as short as possible so that no undue strain should be put on any family’s finances. If the uniform is used only for school, and students change out of it during out-of-school hours, it will help to keep the uniform neat and tidy and reduce the need for replacement items.

Boys' Uniform

  •          Black sweater
  •          Black trousers, standard length(not jeans or cords)
  •          Grey Polo shirt
  •          Black Shoes

Girls' Uniform

  •          Black sweater
  •          Black skirt (standard length - no mini-skirts) or black trousers
  •          Grey Polo shirt
  •          Black Shoes

Black shoes should be plain & formal.

PE Kit

All children should come to school with a suitable change of clothing for P.E. including trainers or sandshoes.

Jewellery should not be worn by students in school. Students who do wear jewellery expose themselves and others to the risk of injury, particularly during practical lessons where machinery or apparatus is used and also during physical education activities. Reasonable exceptions to the rule that jewellery should not be worn might include the wearing of inexpensive watches and the use of 'sleepers' by students who have pierced ears.

However, both of these items must be removed during games and PE lessons.
